Missionaries

Listed below are the missionaries we currently support. We try to have updated information and current prayer letters available, however, currently the fastest way to obtain a prayer letter is to stop by the church. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

You can now download the new prayer calendar for the current month! The calendar has a prayer request for a different missionary each day. Join us in supporting our missionaries through prayer!

Rich and Richelle Howard Rich and Richelle Howard
TRI-M
Rich and Richelle have served as a pastor and wife team at Village Baptist Church since 1988. They have participated in numerous short-term mission trips to Ukraine, Asia, and most notably during the past five years, in annual trips to Rwanda which later included D.R. Congo and Uganda. In 2009 they were invited by TRI-M leaders to become full-time missionaries to various third world areas to teach a theological training program to pastors, their wives and ministry-minded students. This ministry is appreciated by the students who were called by God to be teachers and preachers but were not able to attend Bible colleges due to their lack of funds and their isolated location. The Howards have five adult children and will continue to be based in the Aurora area.

Brian and Lauri Dix Brian and Lauri Dix - Portugal
ABWE: Church Planting, Pastor Training
The Dixes arrived in Portugal in 1991 to join the ABWE team in their efforts of church-planting. In 2001, they were asked to help 're-start' the Ramada Baptist Church, which had dwindled down to about a dozen discouraged believers. Since then, the church has become healthy and worship attendance is reaching 60. There was only one teen girl five years ago and now the group of 15-20 youth is highly active in the church, especially in the area of worship. Brian is the primary pastor of the church and Lauri, Nathan and Matthew all contribute in significant ways. Numerous methods of evangelism and outreach are used to develop contacts, but spiritual movement in the lives of the highly relational Portuguese people is usually based on strong, long-term friendships. Brian also teaches occasional classes in our field-wide leadership/pastoral training program.

Rocky and Lori Mason Rocky and Lori Mason - United States
MAF: Aircraft Repair
Though the Masons live stateside, Rocky ventures to fly to places where his assistance is needed around the world. In January 2005, he flew to Sumatra and worked alongside a team as they helped the Indonesians' recovery process in MAF's response to the tsunami. Rocky lived in a tent and tagged along on relief flights. He helped to prepare a King Air 2000 airplane for use in Afghanistan - a country which has many closed doors to missionary work. For 61 years countless needy people in Africa, Asia, Eurasia and Latin America benefited every day from a generous outreach focusing on evangelism, church support, community development, medical assistance, crisis relief and national training through MAF's services.

Bill and Tamra Branks Bill and Tamra Branks
Continental Baptist Missions
Bill and Tamra Branks relocated in 2004 in response to God's leading to plant a Bible-teaching and Bible-believing church in downtown Chicago. The doors of River North Baptist Church opened in November 2005 with six people in attendance. River North is a small neighborhood church determined to be used by God to draw people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth in this diverse downtown area. Their four objectives are to: 1) exalt Christ; 2) proclaim His whole Word; 3) strengthen believers; and 4) nurture families. In the years since, they have also developed regular street outreaches, organized weekly Bible studies including a children's ministry, and opened Harbor House, an after-school refuge for neighborhood children.

Missionary to Asia Missionary to Asia
Associate Pastor
We have been the sole financial support for a pastor in Asia since 1994. In 1996 we surprised him with funds to purchase a motorcycle to aid in his commute to his many house churches which were miles apart, and a replacement motorcycle in 2006. In 2000, he let us know of his desire to offer training to Christian workers. We were able to send funds for the purchase of lumber for tables and benches needed as well as a stipend for each one who attended the session. He is married and has a young daughter and son. He presently ministers to one church and many groups associated with that church.
