Why do the Howards go to Rwanda?
In each of the past three years, Pastor Rich and Richelle Howard have traveled to Rwanda with Doug and Cheryl Boisvert
(see their updates) who serve as Evangelical Baptist Mobile Ministry missionaries.
During this past July, Pastor Rich, Richelle, and Doug traveled to Kigali, Ruhengeri, Giseyni and Cyangugu, Rwanda to conduct training modules for Rwandan and Congolese pastors and their
wives. They were able to complete two 5 day modules, and one 2 day module. The men learned about 'Biblical Interpretation' and 'The Book of Revelation' while the women were taught
'The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit,' and 'Christian Parenting.'
In all, there were 200 church leaders in attendance, and the TRI-M Rwanda team has been invited back again in 2009 and are beginning to plan for the trip.
During the course of their ministry, the Howards and Village Baptist Church were able to provide funding for widows' cottages, goats, bicycles, medicine, clothing, and reading glasses for pastors and the
ministry of the local church. A total of $11,000 in compassion ministry funds were distributed through the local church.
If you would like to contribute to the expenses of this ministry the following categories of help are needed:
- $50.00 expenses per student to offer a 5 day training module.
- $10.00 per Bible in the Kinyawanda or Kiswahili language
- $40.00 for each goat (one per pastoral family)
- $150.00 for each bicycle (for pastors)
- $500.00 for each widow's cottage
