Worship In Person at Village
Beginning Sunday, May 23, 2021, Village is moving to one service at 10:30am. There is no registration required for this service. Children’s Church will be offered for ages 3 through 2nd grade (registration not required). Nursery is available for those ages 2 and younger.
We will have a small section of pews roped off in the front right section of the sanctuary for those who prefer more space in front and behind themselves.

Worship In Person / Reserve Your Spot
We have resumed in-person services, with safety measures in place. We will be holding in-person services at 8:30 & 11am. You need to RSVP to reserve at spot to attend a service. Click here (link) to reserve your spot at either service.
Some notes about the in-person service:
Face coverings/masks are necessary* when you come in the building, and we ask that you leave them on throughout the service.
Please use sanitizer when you enter the building.
You will find some pews are roped off. We ask that each household finds an open pew and sits towards the end, allowing as much space in between households as possible (minimum 6-ft)
We are offering Children’s Church for kids in Pre-K through 2nd grade who register in advance during the 11am service only. Click here to register for Children’s Church (link). However, kids are more than welcome to join us in the worship service!
We are not passing offering baskets or communion, but have made arrangements to have those available.
We ask that if you or anyone in your household is showing signs of any type illness, please stay home and join us for our services online.
*Kids ages 2 and younger and individuals with a medical condition that precludes them from wearing a face covering are exempt.
Worship at Home
We will continue to livestream our 8:30am service. Visit vbcaurora.org/worship-at-home on Sundays for a link to the livestream.
We encourage anyone who is not comfortable joining us in person, those who are immunocompromised, or anyone not feeling well to join us online!

Updated October 21, 2020
After consultation with the DuPage County Health Department and Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, Village has temporarily paused meeting in-person in response to the additional mitigations in Region 8 (DuPage and Kane County). We hope to resume limited in-person services soon.
We live-stream a service at 8:30am each Sunday, accessible at vbcaurora.org/worship-at-home or on our Facebook page facebook.com/vbcaurora
Updated July 8, 2020
Village has resumed in-person Sunday services, following the guidelines of the Illinois Department of Public Health. As we said in our previous update, reopening a church during a pandemic takes careful planning, discernment and change to be able to meet together while mitigating the risks as best we can. Here are some things to know as Village resumes in-person Sunday Worship Services.
Worship In Person / Reserve Your Spot
In order to keep our service at the appropriate capacity (50 people per service), we are asking anyone who wants to attend a worship service to RSVP in advance. Click here (link) to be taken to the signup sheet. You can register for 2 weeks of services at a time.
If you or your family are visiting us for the first time and want to attend a service, please email office@vbcaurora.org and we will get you signed up, even if the service you want to attend appears to be full!

Worship at Home
We are working hard to provide live-streaming services. Currently you are able to livestream audio of the service (including slides) during the 8:30 & 11am Sunday services. Visit vbcaurora.org/worship-at-home on Sundays for a link to the livestream.
We encourage anyone who is not comfortable joining us in person, those who are immunocompromised, or anyone not feeling well to join us online!
What Village is Doing to Stay Healthy
Staff & Worship Team are being screened for symptoms and having their temperature taken each Sunday
Sanitizer is available in various locations around the building
All used areas and high-traffic touchpoints are being cleaned and sanitized before and in between services
Pews are being roped off, sanitized and rotated for each service
We are dismissing one row at a time, starting in the back, to allow for appropriate social distancing as we leave the building
The offering basket is in a stationary location by the sanctuary doors (not being passed)
We now have the option to give online
On Sundays where we celebrate communion, individually packaged elements will be available for you to take into the sanctuary
Village Together: Reopening in a Pandemic
Updated May 20, 2020
After two months of worshiping at home, we are beginning to plan for reopening Village. Reopening a church during a pandemic takes careful planning. On the one hand, the state of Illinois has outlined clear guidelines for reopening, which we have chosen to follow. But it’s more than this. We have a responsibility to gather wisely in the knowledge that this disease may still spread, and places like Village have the potential to become centers for transmission.
To guide our next steps, we have developed Village Together: A Five Phase Plan for Reopening Village (read). We encourage you to read through it fully to understand what the next few months will look like.
While we are eager to return to normal—and Phase 4 will move us toward that goal—things are going to feel different for a while. We’ll be uncomfortable. It’s going to take sacrifice. But we’ll be uncomfortable and sacrificing together.
As a reminder, our Food Pantry continues to operate as an essential service to the community. For more details, visit our Food Pantry page.
You can stay up-to-date on our progress by checking this website or visiting our Facebook page. Pray that the numbers hold and that we can worship together under the same room soon! And until that day, let’s hold fast to our Savior who loves us and keeps us through it all.
